The May 19 ballot propositions were ostensibly a good-faith effort to find a state budget solution but they failed to convince the people. In OC, over 75% of a very small voter turnout voted “no.” The Governor’s tactics to inspire fear in voters about passing the measures “or else” were not persuasive.
