As Vice President of Communications, Lizz leads strategic communications for the Orange County Business Council (OCBC). Her responsibilities include managing all external communications, media relations, branding, design, production and implementation of all communications and marketing for OCBC stakeholders.
Mishreki brings a significant amount of experience to the Orange County Business Council. Throughout her career, she has directed strategic communications campaigns for regional hospitals and universities and managed her own public relations firm. Her background in working on start-ups includes launching the Affordable Care Act, opening a new regional hospital, and transitioning a private university to NCAA DII. Most recently, she was a member of the Community and Government Relations team with a County of Orange agency. Prior to that, she served as the Director of Public Relations at Concordia University Irvine where she managed media and public relations, and supported government relations for the university and its six schools. In addition, she led the first-generation Hispanic student initiative, a start-up program which earned the school Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) designation; she also served as an adjunct professor in the Department of Communication Studies where she taught Public Relations.
In addition to being appointed to various task forces and advisory boards related to higher education, the Orange County native has volunteered on boards and committees including the Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee, the City of Santa Ana’s Tournament of Roses Committee, Transplant House of Cleveland, the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Orange County chapter, and is a founding board member of the Hispanic Public Relations Association (HPRA) Orange County chapter. Mishreki, a first-generation college graduate, earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations from California State University, Fullerton and is also Accredited in Public Relations (APR) by PRSA, a rare distinction among public relations professionals nationally.
