Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) must develop a 20 year plan for both transportation (RTP) and a housing plan (SCS) for this region, including Orange County.

This plan is coming before the SCAG board for consideration on May 7.  However, a broad based business and housing coalition is seeking a 90 day delay.

We have found numerous errors in the plan, including reducing an approved housing project by 3,000 homes!  In an age of pandemic, and the fact that this is all “online” with thousands of pages of supporting info, the public needs more time to review and seek corrections.

The Orange County Council of Governments voted unanimously to support a reasonable 90 day delay.  This long-range plan must not adversely affect Southern California’s jobs and housing supply.
