The Orange County Community Indicators Report is one of several reports published by Orange County Business Council. Since 1999, the report has been examining how the nation’s sixth most populous county is performing in terms of education, infrastructure, health, income and the economy. The Community Indicators Report is developed in collaboration with CalOptima Health, Orange County Community Foundation, First 5 Orange County, Orange County United Way and Orange County Business Council.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Community Indicators Report. When the first report came out in 1999, smartphones, the gig economy, widespread remote work and generative AI weren’t around. As the report does each year with a special section, this year’s anniversary special section looks back at the county’s progress through a variety of changes and challenges since 1999.
