Greg Saks joined California State University, Fullerton as the Vice President for University Advancement and Executive Director of the Cal State Fullerton Philanthropic Foundation in January of 2013. As the chief advancement officer for the university, his portfolio includes all units related to fundraising, strategic communications and brand management, alumni relations, community relations, government relations, parent relations and campus events. In his role, Saks also serves as the executive director of the Cal State Fullerton Philanthropic Foundation.

Since his arrival to the University, the total gift commitments to Cal State Fullerton have grown from $7.3 Million to almost $25 Million, while also seeing triple digit growth in alumni and other stakeholder donor totals. Through data-driven metrics, there has also been a significant growth in media, alumni, government, and other external engagement.

During his tenure, the Cal State Fullerton Philanthropic Foundation endowment has grown from $34 Million to over $65 Million and total giving from the Cal State Fullerton Philanthropic Board of Governors has more than doubled.

Saks came to Cal State Fullerton with over twenty years of experience in advancement at both private and public institutions. Prior to his current role, he served as Vice President for University Advancement at Cal State Dominguez Hills for seven years and nearly nine years as the Executive Director of Development at Pitzer College, a member of the Claremont Colleges. He also held positions at Cal Poly Pomona and Baylor University in Texas.

Beyond his work at Cal State Fullerton, Saks serves on several boards and commissions. He recently completed a term as Chair of the California State University Advancement Council.

Saks holds a bachelor’s degree in history from California State University, San Bernardino and a master’s degree in higher education administration from Miami University in Ohio. He and his wife, Ann, reside in Orange County with their children, Dean and Audrey.
