John Heffernan has been part of AT&T’s External Affairs team since 2007 covering cities in Southern California responsible for public affairs, government relations, community outreach, media relations and corporate philanthropy.

Now leading AT&T’s efforts in Orange County, he is proud to represent the company’s vision of creating connections – with each other, with what people need to thrive in their everyday lives and with the stories and experiences that matter – all on a robust fiber fed broadband network.

John has been active for years in the community advocating for smart policy, economic vitality, and serving on Boards of Directors for Chambers of Commerce, Community College Foundations, and Youth Development non-profit service organizations.

He was raised in Palos Verdes and arrived in Orange County in the late 1980’s. John raised his family in Mission Viejo, and now resides in Dana Point. The proud father of four grown sons, John enjoys outdoor activities, sports – especially cycling, concerts and travel.
