Kurt MacNeil

Kurt MacNeil is the Director for the Buildings and Systems Engineering Division of the UPS West Region Projects Business Unit. In his role, Kurt is responsible for the construction and deployment oversight of some of UPS’ most advanced automated facilities in the western United States. Working closely with other internal UPS departments, along with UPS State and Government Affairs representatives, Kurt has played an integral role in expanding the UPS West Region network capacity by approximately 20% over the last few years. Kurt oversees an annual project budget of roughly $100 million and is responsible for a network consisting of over 100 vendors and contractors in the property development, general contracting, and material handling sectors of the construction industry.

Kurt began his UPS career in 2003 as a part-time package handler in Ontario, CA while pursuing his Mechanical Engineering degree from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and in 2005, he was promoted to Buildings and Systems Engineering supervisor in the Anaheim, CA facility. After completing rotations through several Southern California facilities, including a three-year assignment as the District Environmental Coordinator, responsible for all environmental aspects of the Southern California Facilities, he was promoted to Facilities Engineer in 2013. He held multiple roles as a Facilities Engineer over the course of the next three years, including overseeing large operations such as Anaheim and Ontario. In 2016, he was promoted to Director of the Buildings and Systems Engineering Division in the Southern California District and assumed his current responsibilities as a West Region Project Director in 2021.

Kurt is an active member of the community, having previously sat on advisory board committees for the Placentia Yorba Linda Unified School District Career Technical Education Programs, North Orange County Regional Occupational Program – Welding and Fabrication, Anaheim Fire Department Certified Unified Program Agency, and the Dean’s Advisory Board for the College of Engineering, Computer Science, and Technology at California State University, Los Angeles. He is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Orange County Business Council.

Growing up in Orange County since the age of one, Kurt considers himself a native of the county, calling Yorba Linda his home. He is passionate about outdoor motorsports activities including off-road and drag racing, off-road buggies and ATVs, boating, and camping. He has a background involved in the automotive racing industry prior to and during the beginning of his UPS career.
